Mo Aboshanab – Standing as Independent Candidate for Canary Wharf Ward
Tower Hamlets Local Elections 2026

Fellow residents of Canary Wharf and Tower Hamlets,

On this day, 01.12.2025, I am formally announcing my candidacy as an Independent Candidate for the Canary Wharf Ward in the Tower Hamlets Local Elections 2026.

Canary Wharf is one of the most important districts in London. It is a global financial hub, a home for thousands of residents, a workplace for professionals, and a growing community of families, students, and local businesses. Yet despite its importance, too many people feel unheard. Too many local concerns remain unaddressed. And too many decisions are made without proper representation of the people who live and work here.

For years, Tower Hamlets politics has been shaped by party agendas, internal disputes, and decisions that do not reflect our daily reality. It is time for a new independent voice. A councillor who listens. A councillor who acts. A councillor who puts community before politics.

This is why I am stepping forward for the 2026 London local elections.

My priorities for Canary Wharf Ward are clear:

Safer streets and a secure neighbourhood
Residents deserve a ward where people feel safe at all hours. Better lighting, stronger coordination with local policing, and a proactive approach to community safety will be at the centre of my work.

Cleaner and greener environment
We will focus on improving waste management, cleaner public spaces, and greener community areas. Canary Wharf should be one of the cleanest neighbourhoods in London.

Support for local businesses
From small shops to new startups, local businesses are the heart of our ward’s economic success. I stand for fair support, easier access to council services, and policies that encourage entrepreneurship.

Transparent and accountable leadership
As an independent councillor, I answer directly to the residents of Canary Wharf — not to any political party. Every decision will be based on fairness, transparency, and common sense.

Community-first representation
Many people in our ward feel left out of the political process. My commitment is simple: open communication, accessible meetings, and a councillor who is always available for local concerns, ideas, and solutions.

My vision for Canary Wharf is a future where residents, workers, families, and businesses feel represented and respected. A future where the Tower Hamlets Council works for the community, not above it.

This campaign is not about political ideology. It is about real people, real solutions, and real independence.

Together, we can build a safer, cleaner, stronger Canary Wharf.
Together, we can bring a new voice to Tower Hamlets Council.
Together, we can shape the future of our ward in the 2026 London elections.

I invite you to join me on this journey.
Your voice matters. Your community matters.
Let us build a better future for Canary Wharf.
